Print Data Guidelines for Custom Printed Plastic Cards

All our products and services for custom-printed plastic cards always adhere to the ISO format. Our cards are in the standard credit card format ISO 7810-ID1 unless explicitly stated otherwise in exceptional cases.

This format is used by, for example, credit cards, as already mentioned, as well as the German ID card, bank cards, and many loyalty cards, which serve as a good reference for the dimensions.

To be specific, here are the exact measurements of our plastic cards:

• Long side: 85.6 mm
• Short side: 53.98 mm
• Thickness: 0.76 mm
• Corner radius: 3.18 mm

The tolerances defined by the ISO standard apply. The card thickness can vary depending on the card type; for example, cards with an NFC chip are usually thicker. The thickness of such technology carriers can range from 0.76 mm to 1 mm.

Our cards are predominantly made from recycled PVC, or new PVC when it comes to technology carriers. All our NFC cards are equipped with chips from NXP; we never use cheap alternative chips.

With the right print data as a starting point, the result will not be an unpleasant surprise.

We produce almost all of our products in-house using high-resolution retransfer printing. This printing process allows us to achieve a high-resolution print at 600 dpi, delivering a razor-sharp result.

Thanks to this printing method, we can process orders quickly and ship even larger quantities promptly.

Our products are tailored to the card format and optimized for printing, ensuring consistently good print results. However, for custom products like photo cards, gift cards, or other cards with individual designs, the following should be considered:

• The image/design should have a 1 mm border on all sides beyond the final format, making it 87.6 x 56 mm.
• The final format of the design is approximately 85.6 x 54 mm, which corresponds to an aspect ratio of about 1.585 : 1.
• The image/design should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
• Text should be embedded fonts or converted to outlines.
• Important information should have at least a 3 mm margin on all sides.
